An Unexpected Apprentice on the Job

Working in heating and plumbing means every day is a little different. New homes, new systems, and occasionally… some unexpected helpers.

Recently, we almost had an extra pair of paws joining us for the day.

While loading up the van ready for the next job, a curious four-legged visitor decided it looked like the perfect place for an adventure. Before we knew it, he had jumped up into the back of the van and was having a good look around the tools, clearly considering whether he should come along for the ride.

Not Quite Gas Safe Registered

As helpful as the extra enthusiasm was, we did have to explain that joining the team requires a few qualifications first.

At Perceptive Heating, all work is carried out by fully qualified engineers. That means being properly registered and trained to ensure every job is completed safely and professionally.

Unfortunately, our new furry apprentice hasn’t quite reached Gas Safe or OFTEC registered status just yet — although he certainly seemed keen to get involved.

A Day in the Life of a Heating Engineer

Moments like this are part of the charm of working out and about in people’s homes across Norfolk. Every day brings something different, whether it’s servicing boilers, diagnosing heating problems, installing new systems, or occasionally meeting some very friendly pets along the way.

While the unexpected apprentice didn’t make it onto the job today, the qualified engineer was still on hand to keep boilers running safely and efficiently.
